In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 79 requests for assistance this past week, Nov. 1-7. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 9, Animal Control 11, Assist Other Agencies 10, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 44, Summons 1.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Mendelsohn at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On November 1, 2021, officers responded to 1402 South Missouri 32 Highway, Preferred Family Health Care, concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of US currency.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 1, 2021, officers arrested John R. Herndon Jr, 23, El Dorado Springs,  for an  El Dorado Springs Municipal warrant charging him with Fail to Appear on the original charges of Driving While Revoked with a $343.50 bond, Cedar County Warrants, charging him with Fail to Appear on the original charges of Property Damage, Moving Traffic Violations, and Resisting Officer, with a$1,500.00 cash bond, and a Bates County charging him with Fail to Appear on the original charges of Tampering 1st Degree, Property Damage, Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Control Substance with a $10,000.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearances.

On November 1, 2021, officers responded to 306 West Lafayette concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of four, 26” Black wheels.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 1, 2021, officers responded to 500 East Fields, Trailer 25A, concerning an assault. A juvenile suspect has been identified and referred to the Juvenile Office.

On November 1, 2021, officers responded to 410 East US 54 Highway concerning a Peace Disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Scott R. Greathouse, 23, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant charging him with Animal at Large with a $82.00 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On November 2, 2021 officers arrested Brandon J. Marriott, 38, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with Fail to Appear on the original charges of Dangerous Drugs with a $5,000.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On November 2, 2021, officers arrested   Juliette E. Shaw, 51, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Fugitive from Out of State, concerning a Johnson County Kansas Warrant, charging her with Identity Theft with a $5,000.00 bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending extradition to Kansas.

On November 2, 2021, officers responded to 410 East U.S. 54 Highway, McDonald’s, concerning a larceny from a vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a .22 Caliber Long Rifle pistol. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 2, 2021, officers responded to 311 South Ohio concerning a burglary. This investigation revealed the theft of a Pit Bull dog.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 4, 2021, officer responded to 100 East US 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a larceny.  A report taken and the investigation continues.
