The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 138 requests for assistance this past week, July 18-24. The requests were as follows:

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On July 18, 2022, officers responded to a report of larceny at 205 North Kirkpatrick. The investigation revealed the theft of two, clothes line poles. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On July 19, 2022, officers arrested Jonathan A Halcon, 24, of El Dorado Springs, for Cedar County Warrants charging him with Probation Violation on the original charge of Aiding in an Prisoner Escape with no bond and Failure to Appear for the original charge of Fraud with a $500.00 cash bond. Halcon was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On July 20, 2022, officers responded to 200 West Twyman concerning a burglary. The investigation revealed forced entry was made through a window and vehicle keys were stolen. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 20, 2022, officers responded to 608 North Jackson concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a 1974 Richline 16 foot aluminum V bottom boat with trailer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 21, 2022, officers responded to 227 W US 54 Highway, Pete’s, concerning a shoplifting. The investigation revealed the theft of two, 12 packs of Twisted Tea. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 22, 2022, officers arrested Christopher H. Applebee, 25, of El Dorado Springs, for a Jefferson County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear for the original charge of No Valid Operator’s License with a b $2,000.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail.

On July 24, 2022 officers responded to the 200 block of South Main concerning a report of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist resulting into injury. The victim was transported by ambulance to the El Dorado Springs Municipal Airport, where the victim was transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to Springfield for treatment of injuries. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 24, 2022, officers responded to 402 North Grand concerning an assault. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On July 24, 2022, officers responded to 721 North Jackson concerning a reported trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shelly L. Haynes, 45, of El Dorado Springs, charging her with Trespassing. She was released pending a court appearance.

Police Report
On July 26, 2022, officers responded to 1200 South Main concerning a burglary. The investigation revealed property damage and the theft of a battery charger. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On July 27, 2022, officers responded to 204 West Hickory concerning a peace disturbance and trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Korey L. Wegner, 35, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Peace Disturbance, Trespassing and two El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants charging him with Property Damage, with a $131.50 bond, and Trespassing with a $181.50 bond. He was transported to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On July 28, 2022, officers responded to 1300 South First Street, Dollar General Store, concerning a reported theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a bag of Kingsford Charcoal, utensils, and paper plates. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Matthew J. Richards, 31, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Larceny, Littering and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On July 29, 2022 officers arrested Tammy Gibbs, 41, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charges of Child Neglect and Family Offense with a $350.00 bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On July 29, 2022, officers responded to 504 East Fields trailer E9 concerning a reported tampering with utilities. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Ronald B. Sugg, 56, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Tampering. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On July 31, 2022, officers responded to 103 West Cruce Street concerning a trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shelly L Haynes, 45, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.
