In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 114 requests for assistance this past week, Sept. 26-Oct. 2. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 12, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 25, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 65, Summons 6.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On September 26, 2022, officers responded 209 East US 54 Highway after officers observed a subject in the back of the business at a door. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Christopher A  Purgerson, 33, of El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of Attempted Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools and Property Damage. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges.  Officers received a Cedar County Warrant charging him with Attempted Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools with a $10,000.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On September 26, 2022, officers responded to 800 North Main, apartment 8, concerning a burglary.  The investigation revealed the theft of watches and jewelry.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 28, 2022, officers responded to 207 West Lafayette concerning a disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Shelly C Haynes, 45, of El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of Attempted Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Resisting Arrest and Property Damage. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers transferred Haynes to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Offices pending charges. 

On September 28, 2022, officers responded to 201 North Main concerning a larceny and property damage.  The investigation revealed a broken window and the theft of an inflatable air mattress. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 29, 2022, officers arrested Pamela J Lavish, 69, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants charging her with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a $181.50 bond, and Possession of Marijuana with a $181.50 bond.  She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On September 29, 2022, officers responded to 314 South Summer concerning a lost or stolen firearm.  The investigation revealed the theft of a Smith & Wesson, M&P EZ, 9mm, handgun. A report taken and the investigation continues. 

On 29 September 2022, officers arrested Brandon C. Daniels, 39, of Rockville, for the probable cause of Driving While Suspended and Failure to Comply with Ignition Interlock. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On October 1, 2022, officers responded to 700 South Park, Apt 8 concerning a domestic peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Brandon S Isbell, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault, Assault on a Special Victim (Peace Officer) and Resisting Arrest. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers released Isbell on summonses pending a court appearance.

On October 1, 2022, officers arrested Chelsea D. Wegner, 29, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging her with Operated a Motor Vehicle without Valid on No License, with an $82.00 bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On October 2, 2022, officers arrested Korey L. Wegner, 35, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Peace Disturbance with a $131.50 bond. He was released pending a court appearance.

On October 2, 2022, officers arrested Gordon W. Trainer, 57, of Carterville, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
