In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 61 requests for assistance this past week, May 1-7. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 3, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 2, All Other Requests for Assistance 45, Summons 4.

Animal Control

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On May 2, 2023, officers arrested Shawnda R. Pulley, 40, of El Dorado Springs, a Vernon County Warrant, charging her with Trespassing with a $137.00 cash bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On May 3, 2023, officers responded to 509 South Forrest Street concerning a Domestic Disturbance.  The investigation resulted in the arrest Dennis J. Spiva, 45, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault 2nd Degree, Kidnapping 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Threatening/Brandishing a Weapon. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges.  Officers received a Cedar County Warrant charging him with Domestic Assault 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action with a $20,000.00 cash bond.   He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On May 3, 2023, officers responded to 805 South Kirkpatrick concerning a Larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a red, Craftsman push lawn mower. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 4, 2023 officers responded to 220 West US 54 Highway, Fugate’s Motors, concerning a larceny form a vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a catalytic converter from a motor home. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 4, 2023, officers responded to 205 South Main on a report of stolen property from 509 South Forest. The investigation revealed the theft of a Missouri Motor Vehicle Title.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 7, 2023, officers responded to 610 North Main concerning a reported Unlawful Use of a Weapon that occurred in the 100 block of West Walnut. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 7, 2023, officers responded to 123 West Lafayette concerning a domestic assault. A suspect had been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.
