In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 57 requests for assistance this past week, Nov. 6-12. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 4, Animal Control 8, Assist Other Agencies 7, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 38, Summons 1.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On November 6, 2023, officers arrested Kendra L. Berning, 43, El Dorado Springs,  for a Cedar County Warrant for Failure to Appear, on the original charges of Vehicle Theft, with a $1500.00 bond and a Vernon County Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of Larceny, with no bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearances.

On November 7, 2023, officer responded to 410 South Ohio Street concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of flooring.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 9, 2023, officers responded to 1109 South High Street concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of prescription medication. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On November 10, 2023, officers arrested Megan Lee Shumate, 41, of El Dorado Springs, for a Saline County Warrant, on a Probation Violation with a $15,000.00 cash bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearance.

On November 12, 2023, officers arrested Shawnda R Pulley, 41, of El Dorado Springs, for a El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging her with Animal Health and Safety with a $131.50 bond.  She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On November 12, 2023, officers responded to 111 East US 54 Highway, Kennon Read Mix, concerning trespassing.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Dusty V Rock, 18, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of trespassing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On November 12, 2023, officers responded to a structure fire at 500 East Fields #25A. The El Dorado Springs Fire Department arrival an conduct fire suppression operations. The investigation revealed the structure was vacant and squatters have been witnessed in the area.  A report taken and the investigation continues
