The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 64 requests for assistance this past week, Dec. 25-31. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 6, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 4, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 1, All Other Requests for Assistance 44, Summons 3.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On December 28, 2023, officers responded to 312 West U.S. 54 Highway, Woods Supermarket, concerning a larceny. The investigating revealed the theft of a container of alcoholic beverage. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Joshua D. Spoonmore, 43, El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Shoplifting and an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Shoplifting with a $131.50 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On December 29, 2023, officers responded to 1109 South Jackson concerning property damage. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Christopher S. Christensen, 27, El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Property Damage and Peace Disturbance. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On December 30, 2023, officers responded to 301 North Park concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a 12,000 pound winch. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On December 30, 2023, officers responded to 700 East U.S. 54 Highway concerning a peace disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Samuel L. Clark, 24, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Peace Disturbance and Trespassing. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On December 31, 2023, officers responded to 216 west Gay Street concerning a report burglary. A report taken and the investigation continues.

Police Report

On January 1, 2024, officers received a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle at 407 East Broadway. The report revealed the theft of approximately $10.00 in change. A report was taken and the investigation continues.

On January 1, 2024, officer responded to 1305 South Missouri 32 Highway for a report of property damage.  The report revealed damage to a vehicle parked in the parking lot. A suspect was identified and the investigation continues.

On January 2, 2024, officer arrested Dakota Herndon, 22, of El Dorado Springs, for an active Linn Creek warrant for Fail to Appear with the original charge of No Operators license with a bond of $$50.00, He was released with a court date after posting his bond.

On January 3, 2024, Officer took a report of an assault that occurred at 106 East Golden Street. A suspect has been identified and investigation continues.
