The St. Clair County Commissioner met Wednesday, June 7, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner; Leroy Strope, north commissioner; Gerald Williams, south commissioner; Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant present.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed SE 575 Rd, road conditions, motor grader locations, culverts and installations, Hogles Creek and equipment.

Commissioner Williams made a motion a adopt Resolution 17-01 to approve Resolution of Membership to Kaysinger Regional Planning Commission and Economic Development District and appoint Gerald Williams to represent St. Clair County at the meetings of Kaysinger Basin Economic Development District Board of Directors. Motion carried.

Sales Tax Revenues received for May 2017, were $26,847.90. Sales Tax Revenues were down $11,993.32 compared to one year ago.

Commission met Monday, June 12, with all present.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed motor graders and brush cutters locations, road signs, department radios and repeater, Hogles Creek, roads, mowing and weed spraying at bridge guard rails.

The Commission signed an agreement between St. Clair County Collector and the Village of Roscoe for collection of Taxes for year 2017.

The Commissioner reviewed a letter from Circuit Judge James Journey concerning implementation of security measures at the Courthouse.

The Commission telephoned Mapping Solutions regarding Plat Books. Kevin Barker returned the call and stated he would email information for new Plat Books for the Commission to review.

The Commissioners approved and signed revision of the 2017 Commissary and Inmate Security funds budgets.

The Commission spoke with a local contractor regarding decorative cement at the Courthouse.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed brush cutting, equipment and repairs, sprayer, radios and repeater for the department.

Upon correspondence received from the St. Clair County Library dated May 30, 2017, Commissioner Williams made a motion to reappoint Anita Bennett and Sue Bullock for a term of four years, to serve on the St. Clair County Library Board of Directors with the term effective July 2017. Motion carried.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to sign an agreement with Mapping Solutions for 20 new Plat Books. Motion carried.

The Commission signed salvage claim paper work on a Sheriff’s office vehicle which was recently totaled in an accident.
