ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made twelve arrests and took multiple reports during the weeks of January 12th, 2021 through January 18th, 2021.

Arrests

Catherine Prudhom – On January 12th, Catherine Prudhom, 50, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Stealing – Controlled Substance/Meth Manufacturing Material. The bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in regards to Catherine stealing someone’s medication. In an interview, Catherine admitted to stealing the medication from the victim.

James Murray – On January 13th, James Murray, 47, Bolivar, was arrested by Polk County on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant with an original charge of Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony. A St. Clair County deputy responded to Polk County Sheriff’s Office to transport James to the St. Clair County Jail. The bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

William Hunt – On January 13th, William Hunt, 48, Fair Play, was arrested by Cedar County on two St. Clair County warrants. The first was a Misdemeanor charge of Failure to Register Motor Vehicle/Trailer Annually with Director of Revenue, and the second was a Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended – 2nd or 3rd Offense. A St. Clair County deputy responded to Cedar County Sheriff’s Office to transport James to the St. Clair County Jail. The bond was set at a total of $307.50 cash only.

Cyntheia Sisemore – On January 13th, Cyntheia Sisemore, 38, Mississippi, was arrested for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid of 10 Grams or Less, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cyntheia was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Cyntheia was the driver of for expired registration. Upon making contact with Cyntheia, the deputy could smell the strong odor of illegal substances, to which Cyntheia gave the deputy a orange container with Marijauna inside. A search of the vehicle found a small bag with crystal-like residue, and a crystal substance on the floorboard, to which both tested positive for methamphetamine.

Larry Moore – On January 14th, Larry Moore, 44, Blue Springs, was arrested in Blue Springs on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A St. Clair County deputy responded to Blue Springs Sheriff’s Office to transport James to the St. Clair County Jail. The bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Clayton Gerald – On January 14th, Clayton Barker, 57, Collins, was arrested on a Felony charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid of 10 Grams or Less – Prior Drug Offense. Clayton was released after a 24 hour hold, pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies responded to a call for service in Collins for a well being check. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Clayton Barker, whom gave consent to search the bedroom, truck, and his person, which lead to the deputies finding Marijuana, one clear bag containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a Tramadol pill.

Benjamin Lewis – On January 15th, Benjamin Lewis, 27, Kansas, was arrested on a Felony charge of Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree. Benjamin was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to NE 471 Road in response to a domestic with shots fired. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Teresa Lewis, who reported that Benjamin had assaulted her and her daughter, and that she had fired a shot into the ground to stop him.

Amber Kindred and Megan Vance – On January 15th, Amber Kindred, 43, Collins, was arrested on a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, a Failure to Appear warrant for El Dorado Springs PD, and a Moving Traffic Violation warrant for Jackson County. The bond was set at $100.50 cash or surety for the El Dorado Springs Police Department warrant, and $1000.00 or 10% cash for the Jackson County warrant.

Megan Vance was arrested at the same residence, for an outstanding Polk County warrant. Polk County took custody of Megan and transported her to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to Collins in reference to drug activity. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Amber, who declined consent to search the house. After a search warrant was procured, St. Clair County deputies found spoons with residue, needles, and a quantity of a white crystal substance that all field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Bradford Moore – On January 17th, Bradford Moore, 43, Osceola, was arrested on a Felony charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Bradford was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Bradford was the driver of. Upon the deputies seeing an open case of beer in the back seat, the deputies asked for consent to search the vehicle and Bradford’s person, to which Bradford gave verbally. On his person, two Hydrocodone pills were found.

Jerold Russell – On January 18th, Jerold Russell, 43, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended, a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid of 10 Grams or Less, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond was set at $3,000 cash or surety.

Michael Mejia – On January 18th, Michael Mejia, 58, Kansas City, was arrested by Johnson County Kansas Sheriff Office on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for a Felony charge of Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing – Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to any Person, and multiple Failure to Appear Traffic Violations. A St. Clair County deputy responded Johnson County Detention Center to transport James to the St. Clair County Jail.  The bond was set at a total of $3,000 cash or surety, and $445 cash only.

Stealing in Collins

On January 13th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service on SE 550 Road in Collins, in regards to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the victim, Cheri Argueta, who reported that a small Buddha statue and a small concrete pigeon statue had been stolen from the residence. Photographs were taken and an investigation done by the deputy. The total value of the statues was approximated at $200.00.

Assist from Lowry City PD

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our thanks to Lowry City PD’s assistance in a situation on January 14th, that led to LCPD and St. Clair County K9 Officer Havik working together to arrest two individuals that were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid.

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made nine arrests and took multiple reports during the weeks of January 19th, 2021 through January 25th, 2021.

Arrests

Ward, Casey – On January 19, Casey Ward, 51, Lowry City, was arrested on a Felony charge of DWI – Chronic, and a Felony charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended. Casey was held on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County made at traffic stop on the vehicle Casey was the driver of. Upon making contact with Casey, the deputy noticed a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle, to which Casey admitted to drinking a quantity of alcohol before/while driving.

Hatfield, Dillon – On January 19, Dillon Hatfield, 25, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Exceeding Posted Speed Limit by 26 Miles Per Hour or More, and a Bolivar Police Department Failure to Appear warrant of Stealing. The total bond was set at $445.00 cash only.

Hanson, Tiffany – On January 20, Tiffany Hanson, 31, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Property Damage – 2nd Degree, and two Failure to Appear Vernon County Traffic Warrants. The bond was set at a total of $523.50.

The arrest was made when Tiffany was taken into custody at the St. Clair County Courthouse and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

McCurdy, Christopher – On January 20, Christopher McCurdy, 41, Appleton City, was arrested on a Felony charge of Domestic Assault – 1st Degree, a Misdemeanor charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner – Involving an Accident, and a Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended. Christopher was held on a 24 hour pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in regards to a domestic. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim, who reported that Christopher had assaulted him/her repeatedly.

Taylor, Patrick – On January 20, Patrick Taylor, 30, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Domestic Assault – 4th Degree – 1st or 2nd Offense, and a Misdemeanor charge of Assault – 4th Degree – Pursuant to Subdivision (3) Special Victims. The bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies responded to a call in regards to a possible domestic in progress. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the victim, who reported that Christopher had assaulted him/her. After Patrick was transported to the St. Clair County Jail, while being booked in, he struck one of the jail officers in the chest.

Sieleman, Haylee – On January 21, Haylee Sieleman, 20, Deepwater, was arrested by Johnson County on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Haylee was transported from Johnson County Jail to St. Clair County Jail. The bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Self, Jonathan – On January 21, Jonathon Self, 34, Wheatland, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Amphetamine or Methamphetamine. Jonathan was transported from the St. Clair County Courthouse to the St. Clair County Jail. The bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Cox, Stephen – On January 21, Stephen Cox, 21, Nevada, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on multiple Bolivar Police Department Misdemeanor warrants. Stephen was transported to the St. Clair County Courthouse pending being picked up by Bolivar Police Department.

Zweifel, Zane – On January 22, Zane Zweifel, 29, Clinton, was arrested by Osceola Police Department on a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle Sounding Siren and Displaying Red/Blue Lights, and two Failure to Appear Osceola Police Department Ordinance charges. Zane was transported by Osceola Police Department to the St. Clair County Jail. The total bond was set at $623.00 cash only.

Burglary on O Highway

On January 19th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to the corner of O and H Highways, in regards to a burglary on a storage shed. Upon arrival, the deputy met with Chief of Osceola Police, Betty Roth, who reported a suspicious dirt bike on a property that she was familiar with the owners of. Chief Roth reported that she had made contact with the owners and that they stated the storage shed had been broken into.

The St. Clair County deputy spoke with the owner, Mckensi Marshall, who advised that the Jet Ski inside of the shed had been stolen. Photographs and all evidence available were taken alongside a report. The total value of loss is estimated to be $500.00.

Stealing in Osceola

On January 20, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Osceola in regards to a possible stolen firearm. Upon arrival, the deputy met with Travis Self who reported that after having people over to visit, a Taurus .40 Handgun was missing. A suspect was named, and information about the firearm was taken alongside the report.

Break-In in Twin Oaks Harbor

On January 21, a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in regards to a burglary in Twin Oaks Harbor. Upon arrival, the deputy met with Roxanne Hartman, who stated that someone had taken the window air conditioning unit out of one of the front windows of her house. She stated that nothing was missing at the time, but that you could tell that someone had been looking through the residence.

Stolen Vehicle in Lowry City

On January 22, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office had a walk in report in regards to a stolen vehicle. David Foster reported that his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, that is gold in color with a “SS” on the side, was parked in Lowry City at his girlfriend’s house, and that he believes someone would have had to steal it with a trailer. David also advises that the front grill of the truck is broken.
