Text Caster

Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Text Caster available!

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made ­­­­2 arrests and took multiple reports during the week of September 21st, 2021 through September 27th, 2021.

Greathouse, John- On September 25, 2021, John Greathouse, 41, Rockville, was arrested by a St. Clair county deputy for 4th Degree Domestic Assault. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a call for service in reference to threats being made. John was also arrested for two prior warrants out of St. Clair County for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault, and 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

Stealing in Appleton

On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, deputies responded to a call for service at Zink Motors in reference to a stealing. Upon making contact with the victim, she stated that someone had stolen catalytic converter off of a truck that they were working on. The deputy asked to see the surveillance video at the time of the stealing and the victim agreed. The deputy observed a small Chevrolet hatchback car occupied by two men. A report was taken and evidence was collected. The investigation is ongoing and there is nothing further at this time.

Stealing in Lowry City

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, deputies responded to a call for service at Twin Oaks Harbor in reference to a stealing. Upon arrival, the victim stated that someone stole his dirt bike and go-cart from his property. The stolen property was valued at $3,800.00. After making contact with an employee of Twin Oaks Harbor that had reported seeing someone drive the go-cart after it had been stolen, the deputy was able to get a description and location of the possible subject. The deputy made contact with Sabastian Thomas, 19, Lowry City, and observed the stolen items on his property. Sabastian was arrested for Stealing a Motor vehicle, as well as a prior warrant out of St. Clair County for 2nd Degree Trespassing. The bond for the St. Clair County warrant was $15,000.00 cash only.
