ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 14 arrests, took an assault report and a stealing report during the week of May 21-28, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

Anthony Kraft- On May 27, Anthony Kraft, 33, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony endangering the welfare of a child, class E felony unlawful use of a weapon, an unclassified felony of armed criminal action, and a class A misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 726 Road in Collins, in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival the deputy spoke with Paul Kraft. Kraft stated that Anthony Kraft discharged a firearm inside Anthony’s residence at Nova Kraft. Nova Kraft stated Anthony pointed a gun at her, told her to get out, cocked the hammer back and fired above her head. The bullet traveled through the bedroom wall where children were. Anthony Kraft admitted to firing the gun inside the residence.

     

Thomas Honeycutt- On May 26, Thomas Honeycutt, 28, Kansas City, KS, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with an unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $750 cash only.

The charge comes from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on May 3, 2016.

Michael Merriman- On May 25, Michael Merriman, 49, Theodosia, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The arrest comes after a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy on March 13, 2018. During the stop, Merriman gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search, two glass pipes with crystal like residue were found, and tested positive for methamphetamines.

     

Samantha Taylor- On May 25, Samantha Taylor, 30, Clinton, was arrested for failure to appear in court on a St. Clair County warrant for a class A misdemeanor violation of a protection order, class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest, detention, or stop, and a class E felony domestic assault in the third degree. Total bond is set at $573 cash only.

The charges stem from an incident on April 8, 2016, when St. Clair County deputies took a report at an apartment on Mahan Street, Lowry City, in reference to Taylor violating of an order of protection by entering the apartment of an individual with an active order. Contact was made with Taylor at Alexander Farms convenience store, Lowry City. Taylor stated she was not going to jail and resisted the deputies.

Chelsea Wheeler- On May 25, Chelsea Wheeler, 22, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D misdemeanor possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Wheeler was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy stopped the vehicle that Wheeler was driving for expired license plates. When she was questioned about having any illegal drugs in the vehicle, Wheeler admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in a back pack in the vehicle.

     

Katrina Winchel- On May 25, Katrina Winchel, 40, Farmington, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with an ordinance violation of speeding in a construction zone by 21-25 mph over. Bond is set at $183.95 cash only.

The original charge comes from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on Jan. 9, 2015.

Anthony Smith- On May 24, Anthony Smith, 36, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony invasion of Privacy. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only. Smith was also charged with a no bond federal warrant charging him with possession of child pornography.

The arrest comes after the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on Smith’s residence.

Louise Kilgore- On May 24, Louise Kilgore, 46, Hollister, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class C felony delivery of a controlled substance. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over the vehicle Kilgore was driving for an equipment violation. When Kilgore was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, she said there was some marijuana inside her purse. A K9 unit was called to the scene to do an exterior sniff test of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. During a search of the vehicle a zip lock bag of marijuana was found along with a zip lock bag that contained a white crystal like substance. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

     

Brandon Wood- On May 23, Brandon Wood, 25, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on two Jackson County warrants for a class B misdemeanor presenting a false identification to gain entry to a gambling boat and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $200 cash only.

     

Chelsea Burleson- On May 23, Chelsea Burleson, 27, Neosho, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

The charge stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on June 26, 2017.

     

Jason Kamp- On May 23, Jason Kamp, 28, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for an ordinance charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 mph over. The bond is set at $93 cash only.

The charge stems from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on Oct. 15, 2017.

     

Johney Gardner- On May 23, Johney Gardner, 50, Buffalo, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over the vehicle that Gardner was driving for traffic violations. During a search of the driver, two plastic bags containing a white crystal like substance were found. The baggies tested positive for methamphetamine.

     

Janine Harrison- On May 23, Janine Harrison, 47, Belton, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The charge comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over a vehicle, that Harrison was a passenger in, for traffic violations. During a search of the driver, two baggies of a white crystal like substance were found.

     

Paul Robertson- On May 23, Paul Robertson, 32, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. This is a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

This arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputies responded to a disturbance in a residence on NW YY highway. Jacob Robertson reported that his brother, Paul, was acting crazy inside their mother’s house.

Upon arrival, one of the deputies made contact with Robertson in the front yard. Robertson was making some strange comments while speaking with the deputy. The deputies got consent to search Robertson’s bedroom. During the search, a straw with a white residue was found, along with multiple articles of paraphernalia.

Stolen Skid Steer in Collins

On May 27, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a property on SE 871 Road in reference to a stolen skid steer.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Donald Merchant. Merchant stated his CAT skid steer had been stolen sometime between May 21-27. Merchant stated he had parked on the property a week ago. The keys were not left in it.

Merchant provided the VIN and photos of the skid steer to the deputy. A request for prosecution was provided to Merchant.

Assault in Roscoe

On May 26, St. Clair county deputies were dispatched to the cabins next to Chopper Stopper Bar and Grill in Roscoe in reference to an assault.

The deputies arrived on scene and spoke with Billie Gibson. Gibson stated that she was sitting on a truck tailgate, drinking beer, when a female she had never met before, walked up to her and began to get mouthy with her. Gibson stated she ignored it. Gibson then stated the female got in her face and she gently pushed her away. The unidentified female then punched Gibson in the face, knocking her to the ground, then was hit again.

The unidentified female began running down the road.

While Gibson was lying there, trying to figure out what had happened, the unidentified female came back and struck her in the face again. Gibson stated the female ran away again and did not return. A witness stated that the female got into a small red vehicle and took off.

Gibson stated the female was being called Amanda. The female is described to be approximately 5’2”, short brown hair, with a medium build.
