Sept. 26 – St. Clair County warrant  issued for Robert Martin, 34, Weaubleau, for a probation violation on original misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Oct. 1 – Erik Novotny, 27, and Sierra Bartels, 25, both of Osceola, were arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging them each with class B felony distribution/delivery/ manufacture/produce a controlled substance class C felony maintaining a public nuisance, class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and class A misdemeanor  possession of marijuana. Novotny was also arrested on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of driving while revoked. Novotny’s total bond is $20,200 cash/surety. Bartels’ bond is set at $20,000 cash or surty.

Charges stem from  St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when deputies were dispatched to NE 601 Rd in reference to Novotny being lost in the woods. Information obtained Novotny was wanted on an active Henry County misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court. Novotny was evidentially located and taken into custody on the warrant.  Two used glass pipes containing residue consistent with  smell of burned marijuana and two opened packages of Zig-Zag ultra thin rolling papers  located in Novotny’s possession.

Further investigation three marijuana plants discovered growing inside Novotny and Bartels’ residence. Other items located in  residence included, a clear plastic bag containing approximately 14 grams of marijuana digital scale,  mechanical scale, skull shaped marijuana grinder, Aleve bottle containing marijuana seeds and  homemade smoking device.

Deputy took burglary reports on NE 675 Rd. George Hankins and Peggy Jones reported their residences were burglarized. Jones stated her residence appeared to be ransacked. She said she went to Harper’s house across the yard and found the back door standing open. She said the inside of Harper’s residence appeared to be ransacked also.

Jones reported several items missing from her residence including jewelry, cash and television. Value of items estimated at $850.

Harper reported a blue and black 1995 Kawasaki 500cc four wheeler missing from barn on the property and several firearms missing from his residence including a Savage .308 bolt action rifle, Savage 30-06 bolt action rifle with a 4x9x40mm scope, Remington 30-06 semi-automatic rifle and 4x9x40mm scope, 7.62x39mm SKS semi-automatic rifle with open sights, Winchester 22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with scope, Marlin 22 caliber lever action, and two old rusty .22 caliber rifles. Total value of four-wheeler and rifles estimated at $2,300.

Deputy took stealing report from Talley Bend Park Attendant Lukus Albin. He said several items were stolen from his camp site. Albin reported total of six gas cans have been stolen from his camp site over the past weeks. Other items reported missing include three crappie fishing poles, one ultra light crappie pole, two snagging rods, Husqavarna model 51 chainsaw with 18-inch bar, and Stihl chainsaw with 14-inch bar. Value of items estimated at $520.

Deputy took burglary report at Bear’s Den on at NE C Hwy. Owner John Broman reported door to his business was found kicked open.

Oct. 2 – Santez Small, 26, Springfield, arrested on four St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of no insurance, driving while suspended/revoked, exceeded the posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour and infraction of failing to display plates on motor vehicle. Total bond set at $1,262.50 cash only. Charges stem from Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation June 17.

Oct 3 – Deputy took burglary report in Gerster area on SE 1141 Rd. Kimberly Hills reported she checked on the property and noticed door standing open. Upon further inspection she noticed door and door knob damaged from being forced open.

Hills said a small red metal hand toolbox filled with miscellaneous tools missing from garage. Damage to the door estimated at $100 and value of stolen toolbox and tools estimated at $8,000.

Oct. 4 – Deputy took stealing report from Daylon Turner. She reported generator was stolen at residence on Second Street, Appleton City. Turner stated generator located on  back porch. Value of generator estimated at $600

Roy Hall, 41, Henryetta, Ok, and Annette Smith, 39, Fort Scott, Ks, arrested on St. Clair County warrants charging them each with class C felony possession of a controlled substance and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Total bond set at $15,000 cash or surety each case.

Charges stem from investigation the same day when St. Clair County deputies responded to report of suspicious vehicle on Hwy 82, west of Osceola on Missouri Department of Conservation land. Contact made with Smith,  driver and Hall, passenger. During investigation pipe with residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine and several other items of drug paraphernalia were located in vehicle.

Christopher Mood, 34, Osceola, arrested at St. Clair County Jail on Clinton Police Department warrant for failing to appear in court on original misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond set at $50 cash only.

Oct 6 – Deputy arrested Ronald Shivers Jr, 39, Lowry City, on St. Clair County warrant charging him with class A misdemeanor assault/attempt assault on law enforcement officer – physical contact third degree and class A misdemeanor resisting/interfering with arrest. Total bond set at $5,000 cash only. Charges stem from Lowry City Police Department investigation the previous day.

St. Clair County warrant issued for Michael Carneal, 44, Sedalia, for failing to appear in court on  original class A misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond set at $1,500 cash only.

St. Clair County warrant issued for Darrell Link, 31, Nevada, for failing to appear in court on original class A misdemeanor charge of non support. Bond set at $1,000 cash only.

Oct  8 – Deputy took burglary report on Missouri Street, Appleton City. Jeffrey and Deborah Cross reported antique open faced gold pocket watch and chocolate pearl necklace missing. Value of items estimated at $900. Approximately $20 to $30 in quarters also reported missing. Suspect named and evidence collected at scene.

Oct 10  – Deputy took burglary report on SE 101 Rd. Alvin Stevens reported a Sanyo flat screen LCD television, subwoofer for surround system and Direct TV remote stolen from residence. Evidence collected at scene. Value of items estimated at $350.

Oct. 11 – Deputy arrested Helen Lee, 44, Osceola, on St. Clair County warrant charging her with class C felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor driving without a license and class C misdemeanor speeding six to 10 miles per hour over. Bond set at $15,000 cash or surety. Charges stem from  Osceola Police Department investigation the day before.

St. Clair County warrant issued for Jacob Harper, 26, Osceola, charging him with class D felony driving while revoked. Bond set at $5,000 cash or surety. Charge stems from Sheriff’s Office investigation Feb. 4 when traffic stop conducted on vehicle Harper was driving. Check revealed Harper’s driving privileges suspended and  eight other driving while suspended or revoked convictions.
