Feb 19 – a St. Clair County deputy took a report regarding trespassing, property damage and stealing on Route EE in the southwest corner of the county near the junction where Vernon, Cedar and St. Clair meet. William Browning reported two large walnut trees were cut down by someone a year or two ago. The trees were located approximately a half mile off of the road along the back edge of a field.

Browning stated he and his son went to the property on Feb. 19 and noticed someone has removed the logs. He noted the edge of the field was also damaged. One log was found along the access road to the field. It was hooked to a tree with a tow strap and a come-along. A red fiberglass ladder and a large roll of wire were also found at the scene. The value of the trees was estimated between $1,500 and $2,000. A suspect has been identified and formal charges are pending.

Feb 21 – Katrina Winchel, 39, Farmington, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear in court on two municipal ordinance charges possession of marijuana and speeding in a construction zone 21-25 miles per hour over the limit. The charges stem from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Sept. 7, 2014. Total bond is set at $500 cash only.

Mary Scheer, 47, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class E felony driving while revoked-third or subsequent offense. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation the previous day when a traffic stop was initiated on a 1994 Ford F150 pickup truck on North Maple Street, Appleton City. Scheer was identified as the driver. During the investigation it was determined Scheer’s driving privileges were revoked and there were previous convictions for driving while revoked. Scheer was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County jail pending the formal charge.

Feb 23 – Bryan Ferrel, 36, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony stealing a motor vehicle. Bond is set at $15,000.

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on Feb. 21, when a St. Clair County deputy took a report in reference to a stolen vehicle at the Appleton City Feed Service on West Fourth Street, Appleton City. The store’s co-owner James Smith reported a white 2003 Ford F350 single cab with a black flatbed was stolen from the feed store. Smith estimated the value of the truck at $10,000. Video footage was obtained showing a suspect getting into the truck and taking off at approximately 12:09 p.m.

In the morning hours on Feb. 22, Bates County Sheriff’s office recovered the truck. It was towed to a secure location for processing. Evidence located by Bates County Sheriff’soffice at the scene assisted in identifying Ferrel who was later taken into custody in St. Clair County. Ferrel also had an arrest warrant from Bates County charging him with class A misdemeanor resisting arrest. Bond on that charge is set at $500 cash or surety.     

Feb. 24 – a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Norman Botwinik and Julie Farr in reference to trespassing and theft from their property located off of SE Hwy T in the Gerster area. Botwinik reported someone has stolen two Moultrie A-20i game cameras from his property. Photos of the suspects and even a suspect vehicle were captured from other cameras on the property. The total value of the cameras was estimated at $240.

In the evening hours on Feb. 25, a St. Clair County deputy was notified Osceola Police Department had a vehicle failing to yield on Hwy 13. The vehicle turned west on Hw B and was traveling approximately 80 miles per hour. A deputy joined in the chase at Lake Shore Estates. The vehicle continued traveling west reaching speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour and failing to stop at stop signs. After passing M Hwy the vehicle ran off the south side of the road and then crossed over and went off the north side.  The driver regained control and continued west through the junction of Hwy H.   

After entering Bates County the vehicle reached the intersection of Hwy P and turned north, then into a driveway, and into a dirt field.  When the vehicle came to a stop the driver got out and ran east though the field.  Deputies pursued the driver into the field and took him into custody approximately 100 yards from his vehicle. Alderman was identified as the driver and stated he was running because his wife pulled a knife on him. He also noted he doesn’t have a driver’s license.  A 15-year old female juvenile was identified as a passenger in the vehicle.

Feb. 26 – Curtice Alderman, 35, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with several counts after failing to yield to law enforcement the previous day. Alderman is charged with class D felony endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk- first degree, class E felony resisting arrest by fleeing-creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person, class D misdemeanor driving while suspended and class B misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.

St. Clair County deputy took a burglary report on SE 925 Road, Collins. Beverly Ogden reported receiving a call that the front door of a residence was standing open. Ogden responded to the area and noticed the door jamb was broken and the door was standing open. She could not locate anything missing from the property and estimated damage to the door jamb at $50.

   St. Clair County deputy arrested Austin Butler, 24, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear on city ordinance violations of driving while revoked or suspended and expired plates. The warrants were issued on Feb. 22 and total bond is set at $405.50. The original charges stem from Osceola Police Department investigations on Dec. 19, 2016.

  St. Clair County deputy arrested Alexandria Moore, 23, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor charge of operating vehicle on a highway without a valid license and an unclassified misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident. The warrants were issued on Feb. 22 and total bond is set at $384.50 cash only. The original charges stem from Missouri State Highway Patrol investigations on May 19 and on June 9, 2016

Feb. 28 – Jeremiah Madison, 19, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair warrant for failing to appear in court on a class B misdemeanor charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 20-25 mph. The warrant was issued on June 8, 2016. and bond is set at $320 cash only. The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on March 25, 2016.

Theodore Trowbridge, 33, Collins, was arrested on a no bond felony warrant issued by the State of Missouri Division of Probation and Parole. Trowbridge was on parole for class C felony charge of statutory rape second degree. The original charge stems from a Hickory County Sheriff’s Office investigation in October 2007.

March 1 – St. Clair County warrant was issued for Flint Greer, 27, Humansville, for failing to appear in court on class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

James Sprinkle – St. Clair County warrant was issued for James Sprinkle, 27, Joplin, for failing to appear in court on a class D felony charge of non support with total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.

March 2 – St. Clair County warrant was issued for James Lysinger, 38, Lowry City, charging him with class D felony non support-total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

March 3 – Eric Bell, 26, Osceola, was arrested on two St. Clair County warrants charging him with three felony counts and one misdemeanor count from St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigations in July and August 2016.

Bell is charged with class B burglary-first degree and class A misdemeanor assault-third degree stemming from an investigation on July 31, 2016. Deputies took a report from Darrell Unruh in reference to Bell unlawfully entering a residence on SE 801 Rd, Collins. While inside the residence Bell assaulted Unruh.

Bell is also charged with class D felony resisting arrest by fleeing and class D felony driving while revoked stemming from an investigation on Aug. 23, 2016. A St. Clair County deputy witnessed a vehicle owned by Bell exit Pilot Travel Center and travel east on SE 1000 Rd, Collins. Witnesses reported Bell was in the driver’s seat. The deputy had previous knowledge Bell’s driving privileges were revoked. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on SE 1000 Rd and Bell refused to yield and increased his speed. During the incident, the deputy lost sight of Bell’s vehicle. Several other deputies from St. Clair and Hickory County also searched the area for the vehicle to no avail.  Later the same day a deputy took a report concerning Bell’s vehicle located in a pasture near SE 1000 Rd and  SE 1071 Rd.

The warrants were issued on March 2 and served at the St. Clair County Jail where Bell is in custody on non related charges. His total bond on these charges is set at $30,000 cash or surety.        

Shane Stewart, 37, Jerrico Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County no bond warrant charging him with failing to abide by a judge’s order. Stewart is originally charged with class B felony distribution/delivery/ manufacture/ produce a controlled substance, class C felony possession of a controlled substance, class C felony unlawful possession of a firearm, class D felony unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on Oct. 27, 2016 when a narcotics search warrant was executed at a camper located in Twin Oaks Harbor, Lowry City. During a search of the residence several items of contraband were located throughout the camper. Items included a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, several new plastic bags, and digital scales.
