OK, Captain is continuing his assault on the chipmunks. He got one the other day. Poor little thing. He chased it all around and got really hot and bothered doing it, too. He was out on the driveway panting and really, really hot.

Then I opened the door to put Captain in. Jack ran out, but I don’t think Jack was that interested, and the chipmunk got away.

There was a time when my big old calico cat, Bella, brought me five chipmunks in one day. She had them all laid out on the porch. I don’t think she ever ate one.

Ash Wednesday is gone. We were in the front part of the office holding this kitty when a little girl passed by and her eyes got real big. She started staring at us. Davis asked if her if this was her cat, and it was! She rushed in and took the cat. She told us what her real name was, and that she missed her but neither one of us can remember what it was. Anyway, she went back home to her family on Kirkpatrick.

Next up are the T-shirts. I think we should have some kind of design this week sometime, and the three honorees are anxious to see what that looks like. We had to put three people who had very different functions at the picnic together and make it look like they do that kind of stuff all the time.

Anyway, that’s what’s coming up. Fourth of July is not too far away. Two hundred and fifty years, that’s a pretty good run.

As far as my lawn goes, it still hasn’t been mowed because every time I think about mowing it, it rains. What’s the point? I think there are some big, scary things growing out there, but that will be okay.
