On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, ten members of the El Dorado Springs DECA chapter along with their Advisor Kristal Swopes and student teacher Kayla Penn traveled to Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri to compete at the District 10 Career Development Conference. Members competing were as follows: Brett Alexander and Russell Ferguson in Sports and Entertainment Team Decision Making, Allie Ashlock and Nathan Saderstrom in Community Giving Project, Kandon McGuirk and Noah Steward in Financial Literacy Project, Kyson McGuirk and Kolten Norman in Marketing Management Team Decision Making, Makayla Shipp in Apparel and Accessories, and Lily Willinger in Leadership Delegate.

Four students will be moving on to the State Career Development Conference in Kansas City, Missouri at Crown Center on March 3-5, 2024. Those students are Allie Ashlock, Kandon McGuirk, Nathan Saderstrom, and Noah Steward. They will compete against DECA members from all over the state of Missouri for a chance to qualify for the opportunity to compete at ICDC in Anaheim, California this April.
