Mark your calendars now for the upcoming El Dorado Springs MS/HS production of Twisted Tales of Poe. Director Tandi Leonard says, “This is a very unusual take compared to what we normally do. The premise is that the entire play replicates an old-fashioned radio show. This means the actors are not actually performing the scenes, but reading them with intense emotion. The performance is all in the voice.” Mrs. Leonard goes on to explain that one of the most unique things about this type of show is that all sound effects will be created live, on stage, using random, everyday items.

Although the theme this year is quite dark, the creativity that goes into developing and creating such diverse sound effects, along with the importance of precise timing, will undoubtedly make this a show you won’t want to miss.

Performances will be held in the old Elementary/MS Gym at 7 p.m. March 8-9, and 3 p.m. March 10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Mid-Missouri Bank, or at the door before each performance. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for school-aged children. Disclaimer: The content of this play may be slightly disturbing for small children. Please use discretion.
