An all-around effort led the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity past Walnut Grove (MO) 7-3 Monday evening in Ash Grove. It was the first win as a head coach for Julie Shelby the new coach of the Bulldogs.

·  Tailor Hutsell was strong at the plate and on the rubber in carrying the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity to a 7-3 victory over Walnut Grove on Monday.

·  It was a good day at the plate for the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity’s Hutsell. Hutsell went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the second and fourth innings. Hutsell came close to putting one over the fence, hitting one that struck the top of the outfield fence and broke it but didn’t go over.

·  Hutsell struck out 11 hitters en route to the the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity win. Hutsell allowed three earned runs, four hits and two walks over seven innings.

·  Raylie Hejna took the loss for Walnut Grove . She allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out eight.

·  The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on an RBI single by Anyssa Salazar, the catcher.

·  The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity added three more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Hutsell singled, plating Alyson Snodgrass.

·  Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Walnut Grove close its deficit to 6-2. A bases loaded walk by Hutsell and an error set off Walnut Grove rally. Finally, Hutsell got Stephani Ortiz to strike out to end the threat.

·  One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Walnut Grove close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI single by Bayley Harman sparked Walnut Grove’s rally. The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity stopped the rally after Hutsell got Hejna to fly out.

Thursday evening the Lady Bulldogs will play Buffalo at home beginning at 5 p.m.
