El Dorado 12  Versailles 2

Thursday night the Bulldogs had a total team performance winning 12-2 over Versailles to improve to 3 and 2 in conference play and 5-11 overall.

Brett Alexander, Skylar Crawford, KanDyn Ewert each had two hits a piece.

Also contributing offensively were Cooper Brown, Karson Burley, Rylun Mays, Cooper Greathouse, and Aidan Rotert. Kandyn Ewert pitched six strong innings for the win, only giving up two earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

“We had our most consistent 1-9 hitting that we have had all year with eleven hits total. KanDyn did a great job of throwing strikes all night and that was the most focus that I have seen KanDyn possess in his three years at ElDo. We had a 30 minute lightning delay and nothing really phased KanDyn tonight. I am extremely proud of his performance tonight. We have been talking all year long that we have to be able to hit consistently all the way through the lineup in order to be successful. We definitely were tonight and I hope it is a big confidence booster as we move into post-season play.

I was really happy to see Cooper Brown step up for us tonight.  We were missing Kane tonight and he stepped up in a big way. Brett Alexander had two big hits for us and it is nice to see him get going. Karson has really been seeing the ball well the second half of the year and is a tough out every at bat. Skylar also stepped in as a starting outfielder and he had two hits as well.

It was just a great team performance. We are entering the most important part of the season, where we need to be at our best. I am excited to see what the next three weeks of baseball looks like.”
