Coach Steve Altheide’s young team started off the MCSAA State Basketball finals on Thursday afternoon, playing the 2nd ranked team in the Class 3 division. The Buffalos played hard, but came up with a loss against the Victory Road Minutemen. Senior Chad Murray led his team on Friday, February 19, as the Buffalos hit the court against Clinton Christian Academy. Each one of Coach Altheide’s players showed grit and determination during the game; Cannon Ash and Isaac Hubbard worked hard on defense, Chad Murray, Jason Conduff and Jude Wyant hit the court with quick passes and big shots. The boys played smart and their Christian attitude stayed as strong as their game, the Buffalos however were dealt a loss, 60 to 52. In their final game of the season, the ECS Buffalos took on the Training Center Eagles. (The T.C. Eagle’s team had won State just a year earlier.) Fast-paced, three-point shots, huge defense; the Buffalos stayed with the Eagles until the last 9 seconds of the game. In a heartbreaker, the Buffalos fell by a shot, 68-66, Training Center. Coach Steve Altheide and his Buffalos had given everything they had, and through it all, they always demonstrated a Christian Attitude. Pictured, beginning in the back; Jason Conduff.
