The Lady Bulldogs finished their season Saturday with a loss in the quarterfinals to the Lady Cardinals of Benton-St. Joseph.  The Lady Bulldogs fought hard throughout the four quarters of regulation and one overtime but fell just short of the victory 38-41.

The game started out back and forth as both teams traded early baskets and early turnovers to end the first quarter tied at 12.  In the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs struggled to score as they were only able to score on two free throws and took a 6 point deficit into the half.  In the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs came out on fire as they exploded for 17 third-quarter points to take a 4 point lead into the fourth quarter.  Once again, the Lady Bulldogs would struggle to score and the Lady Cardinals tied the game, sending it to overtime.  In the overtime session, the Lady Cardinals scored first and put the Lady Bulldogs in catch-up mode.  The Lady Bulldogs took the final shot but came up short.

Although, the Lady Bulldogs ended the season with a loss.  They have a lot to be proud of.  They were able to compete in the Pink and White tournament for the first time that any of us can remember.  They played in multiple tournament championships.  They had an undefeated conference season and went undefeated at home.  They had three girls receive all-district honors: Macie Mays, Reese Schaaf, and Tevi Gurley.  They won a District title and sectional game.  All without a single senior on the team, they will all be back and will be stronger going into next season.  Team members were:  Juniors-Reese Schaaf, Tevi Gurley, Morgan Mitchell and Dani Ogle.  Sophomores-Macie Mays, Wriley Taylor, Hannah Klaiber, and Alyssa Irvin.  Freshman-Tenlie Steward, Abi Schmitt and Gracie Mead.  Managers-Hanna Winburn, Graycen Floyd, McKinli Mays and Kyndal Swopes.

We would like to thank all of our fans for supporting us throughout the season.  We appreciate everything you’ve done for us.
