ECS Varsity volleyball STARTS ON THE ROAD 3 CC

ECS VARSITY VB STARTS SEASON ON ROAD – With only nine days of school under their belt, the ECHS Lady Buffalo’s volleyball season is already underway. The team traveled to Ft. Scott, on Aug. 30 for their first tri-match game. Head Coaches Kelly Bryson and Travis Bryson have a young and enthusiastic team who are working hard preparing for the season. Varsity’s first match of the night was against Christian Learning Center. This team won the Division II State Championship in 2015. First game, “jitters” seemed to be short lived. The Buffalo’s serves were tight and sharp; #3, Alyssa Hammons, and #34 Aidan Krehbiel set for front and middle spikers. ECHS dug-in their heels, but unfortunately came up short, losing the match, 25-18, 25-20.

With 10 minutes to grab a drink and warm up, the Lady Buffalos dove into their second match of the night against Calvary Baptist Academy of Ottawa, KS. ECHS once again had strong serves and height at the net, but fell in two sets – 15-25 and 13-25.

The ten prepare this week for a battle on Friday night when they travel north to take on Plaza Heights Academy at 5 p.m. and South Park at 6.

The Lady Buffalo’s first home game is Tuesday evening, Sept. 6, beginning at 4:30. Later next week on Friday, Sept. 9, ECHS steps up for a tough night with games at 4, 5 and 7 p.m. Gym doors will open Friday night at approximately 3:40. Family Sport Passes will be available for purchase at the door. Concessions will also be offered both nights.
