On Saturday, May 13, the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs loaded up the bus early in the morning to head to Hollister to get the post-season track season started with the Class 3 District 6 track meet. At stake are 4 coveted tickets in each event to further their post-season endeavors next week, Saturday, May 20 at the Class 3 Section 3 Track Meet. The day started with a short weather delay, but then got going and rolled through the day without any further interruptions.

On the Girls side the following girls punched their tickets into the Sectional Track meet next week (top 4): Lainey Dody, 4th in the 100 in 13.36 seconds as well as 4th in the 200 in 28.00 seconds, McKinli Mays, 1st in the 400 in 1:00.48 and 3rd in Triple Jump, jumping 10.28 meters (33’8.72”), Audrey Goatley, 4th in the 1600 in 5:35.06, Christian Steuck, 1st in Javelin throwing 30.19 meters (99’0.58”), and Shila Steinert, 2nd in high jump with a jump of 1.47 meters (4’9.87”). Also moving on for the girls team is the 4 x 400 relay team, consisting of Hannah Klaiber, Neely Schaaf, Audrey Goatley and McKinli Mays placing 2nd with a time of 4:16.50 and the 4 x 800 relay team consisting of Tatum Quinlan, Audrey Goatley, McKinli Mays and Hannah Klaiber winning with a time of 10:11.12.

Also scoring for the girls team but not moving on is the following: Kalen Post, 5th in the 100 m. hurdles in 17.45 seconds, Braylie Steward, 5th in the 300 m. hurdles in 52.57 seconds, Christian Steuck, 7th in the 800 m. run in 2:40.68, Audrey Goatley, 7th in the 3200 in 13:28.18, Avery Floyd, Tie for 8th in High Jump with a jump of 1.37 meters (4’5.94”), and the 4 x 200, consisting of Lainey Dody, Shila Steinert, Neely Schaaf, and Hannah Klaiber, 7th with a time of 1:56.01.

On the Boys side, the following boys punched their tickets in the Sectional Track meet next week: Kuliath Kephart, 4th in the 100 in 11.51 seconds and 2nd in high jump with a jump of 1.87 meters (6’1.62”), Justin Brown, 3rd in the 200 in 23.35 and 2nd in triple jump, with a jump of 12.68 meters (41’7.21”), Connor Goatley, 2nd in the 800 m. run in 2:02.90. Also moving on for the boys team were the following relay teams: 4 x 100, consisting of Greg Whetstone, Justin Brown, Trey Beisley, and Kuliath Kephart, 4th with a time of 44.84 seconds, the 4 x 200, consisting of Will Seitz, Justin, Trey and Kuliath, 3rd in a time of 1:34.10, 4 x 400, consisting of Will, Braxton Watts, Trey and Connor Goatley, 4th in a time of 3:36.20 and the 4 x 800, consisting of Will, Braxton, Logan Fisk and Connor, 2nd in a time of 8:37.71.

Also scoring for the boys team but not moving on is the following: Will Seitz, 6th in the 400 m. dash, in 52.84 seconds, Braxton Watts, 5th in the 800 m. run in 2:03.68, Logan Fisk, 5th in the 3200 m. run in 11:17.13, Brandon Garner-Sims, 6th in Shot Put with a throw of 13.83 meters (45’4.49”) and Trey Beisley finished 7th in the long jump with a jump of 5.65 meters (18’6.44”).

Once the rain let up and the sun came out it became a warm and muggy day, but this team dug in like the Bulldogs they are and got the job done. In the end, we have 9 events moving on on the boys side and 8 events moving on on the girls side. In the end, the Girls team finished 2nd, bringing home the runner up plaque with 81.33 points just 0.33 points ahead of a 3rd place tie between Fair Grove and Lamar. The boys team did well as well, finishing 4th. Overall, this was an incredible day, an Incredible day to be a Bulldog. Qualifiers will head to West Plains this coming Saturday, May 20 to participate in the Class 3 Section 3 track meet with the hopes and thoughts of the Class 3 State Meet on their mind. To qualify, they will again have to place in the top 4 in each event. GO BULLDOGS!
