On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the El Dorado Springs Cross Country team hosted their one home meet of the year out at the Gene Pray Memorial Golf Course. There were a total of 14 teams represented at the meet. The middle school runners got the meet started off at 4 p.m. On the girls side, Adalynn Parker got things started off in the right direction for the Bulldogs, winning the middle school girls race with a time of 13:58.31 for the two mile course. She was joined shortly behind by teammate Lela Brown, in 2nd place. Michaela Parker finished 6th with teammates Riley Lee and Rhielyn Nichols finishing shortly after in 8th and 11th places, respectively. At the end of the day, the Middle School girls found themselves at the top of the team standings, winning the team division.

On the middles school boys side of things, Wyatt Klaiber led the way from the beginning, winning the middle school boys race with a time of 12:09.60. Teammate Koal Caldwell, followed shortly behind, finishing in 2nd. The El Dorado Springs middle school boys team them saw a pack of 4 runners finish fairly close together with Graydee Wolfe in 5th, Tyler Reasoner in 6th, Sylas Fletcher in 7th and Shane Fletcher in 9th. These 6 runners were joined by Wyatt Strawn and Kyson McGuirk to also find themselves at the top of the standings also winning the middle school girls team title.

Next up was the High schools girls in the tough 5k distance. Teammates Hannah Klaiber and Audrey Goatley led the way finishing 1st and 2nd separated by just a couple of seconds with Hannah winning with a time of 21:12.00 and Audrey finishing in a time of 21:14.64. Teammate, Kenli Rader finished just shortly thereafter in 4th place, with Colbie Wood finishing in 7th place. Olivia Graves and Morgan Mitchell rounded out the medalists for the Eldo CC girls team, finishing in 17th and 19th place, respectively. These 6 runners were joined by Clara Farran and Myka Barger, to find themselves atop the team standings for the High school girls division.

In the boys varsity division, Daelen Ackley led the way from the beginning, winning big and bettering his course record from last year, running a time of 16:11. Teammates Connor Goatley and Garrett Klaiber finished 3rd and 4th. Blayze McCullough finished in 10th place, while teammates James King finished in 14th place and Riley Quinlan finished in 19th place to round out the medalists for the Varsity boys division. This was a close team contest between El Dorado Springs and Springfield Central, but when the dust had settled and the scores were totaled, the El Dorado Springs Varsity also found themselves, joined by Kyan Roberts, at the top of the team standings as well to complete the sweep for El Dorado Springs in the team divisions.

Kolton Nichols also found himself in 8th place in the JV boys race. Also competing in the JV boys race was Izaauh Wolfe and Kandon McGuirk.

This was a great day for the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Team for both Middle School and High School. They all ran well and tapped into the motivation of the home crowd and put on a good show. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the Bulldog Cross Country team. Special thanks to the football team for taking some time out of their practice schedule and running around at the cross country course and cheering on their fellow Bulldogs. It was amazing.

For the High School Bulldogs team, this finishes out their regular season, and they will now focus their efforts on the post season, with the Class 3 District 2 Cross Country meet at Clever on Saturday, October 30. The middle school team has one more meet left, the Middle School Championships meet which will be held on Saturday, October 23. This is a first this year for the middle school runners and something for them to look forward to, to help wrap up their season. It is something that they are looking forward to. It will be held in Wheatland at Lucas Oil Speedway.
