El Dorado Springs has Olympic trials athlete

Emilyn Dearman, a CNA at Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado Springs, has qualified for the Olympic trials in June 2020.

Emilyn is a Teaching and Leadership Graduate Assistant currently working on her graduate degree in Health, Human Performance and Recreation.  She was a member of Pitt State track and field team from 2013-2017.

Sept. 14 and 15 she competed at the Thorpe CUP Heptathlon in Filderstadt-Bernhausen, Germany, where she placed second overall. Emilyn was the highest scoring American athlete which contributed to the 2019 Women’s USA Thorpe Cup Team taking their 10th consecutive victory in the Thorpe CUP.
