Kickin up dust in Oklhoma 2 cc

KICKIN UP DUST IN OKLAHOMA – Norman, OK, was the hosting city for the Oklahoma Open Karate Championships on Oct. 1. Two members from Van Dyk’s Karate representing Team SWAT and their parents travelled to Norman to compete in the second last tournament for the year on the OKA Circuit. Mason Gardner and Hunter Malensek who are chasing championship points competed with some tough competitors and faught some serious battles. Months of training and preparations for these tournaments was greatly benefitted these young men and it has been very fruitful for them with the amount of awards weighing down their throphy shelves. Both Hunter Malensek and Mason Gardner competed in the Youth 10-11 Divisions.

Mason placed 2nd in Open Hand Forms, 4th in Traditional Weapons and 4th in Sparring.

Hunter placed 1st in Traditional Weapons, 1st in Open Hand Forms and 1st in Sparring.
