Northeast Vernon County celebrated their annual Homecoming on Friday, Jan 20, featuring two basketball games with the coronation following.

The Lady Knights won their game 64-29 and the boys lost 56-83. They played the Calhoun Eagles.

Varsity Basketball Coach Joel McDuffey said, “As a coach you look for your teams to grow in their skill set but more importantly in the culture you are building. I could not be more pleased with the way both groups are taking to the culture we have been working to create. Their willingness to buy in has made them better teammates and young adults.”

“Every team has their ups and downs through the season. We have found some inspiration and are headed in the right direction at a good time in the season. This game has shown they are willing to fight and have taken the challenge to improve their skills. I love coaching these athletes and look forward to their continued improvement as players and people.”
