On August 17, 2020 Sheriffs from across the state, as members of Missouri Sheriff’s United, formally endorsed Governor Michael Parson to continue serving Missouri citizens as our Governor. Governor Parson has proven he is committed to protecting law abiding citizens and he supports firm and fair enforcement of Missouri law. He understands that in order to have safe communities and neighborhoods we must all remain committed to the rule of law and those who violate the law must be held personally accountable.

The governor is committed to addressing our state’s violent crime problem.  He knows that it is not just an issue for our metropolitan areas but also for our rural areas.  Governor Parson knows that we must all work together and take action to make our homes and neighborhoods safer. He has demonstrated this by supporting local, state and federal partnerships that are already getting dangerous criminals off our streets.

As a man of action, Governor Parson has shown his commitment to the local law-abiding citizen by ensuring that local taxpayers are reimbursed for the incarceration of state prisoners. When some in Jefferson City were calling for the elimination of this vital partnership between state and local government, Governor Parson stood firm and made sure that the state paid its bills.

As a 22-year law enforcement veteran, and a former Polk County Sheriff, the governor understands the needs of law enforcement. While many want to “defund the police” Governor Parson will protect those who are sworn to protect all of our citizens. Knowing that law enforcement officers risk their lives to defend our families and our neighborhoods, he will do everything he can to provide them with the tools they need to do their job.

That is why Missouri Sheriffs United has endorsed one of our own to continue to serve as Governor of the state of Missouri.
