The Missouri Department of Conservation will conduct a Hunter Education course on Oct. 21 in the Humansville Community Hall. Hunters who were born on or after Jan. 1, 1967, and are 16 or older must successfully complete an approved hunter-education course to qualify to buy firearms hunting permits. The Cedar County Library is beginning a new reading program starting   10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, for the Stockton branch and  will continue each Monday through November. The program will start at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, for the El Dorado Springs branch and  will continue each Thursday (with the exception of Thanksgiving Day)

The 134th annual St. Clair County Baptist Association will be held at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Sept. 8 and 9. Both days begin at 10 a.m. and the annual sermon will be Bro. Bobby Budd.
