Rock Wall

I forgot to tell you last week the story behind the photos at the top of the front page with school kids looking at the eclipse. I was getting ready to head out the door to find something to shoot when Sharon Barger called to tell me that from Mike & Joe’s she could some

We’ve got a 90th birthday ad for Jennie Barritt this week. Yes, I’m a product of Mrs. Jennie Barritt’s 8th grade science class. It was the first time I had to change classes, I think. Mrs. Shirley Vickers taught English, if I remember correctly. Mrs. Maurine Moss was my home room teacher. Jim Tharp, a

Travis Stoll, at the Bulldog Brew, said that several of you commented on my mention of him in the Rock Wall, but at least one wondered aloud what that had to do with hot peppers. Nuthin’.  It just gave me a chance to familiarize you with Travis. I thought the next day after I wrote

With only a week to go, it’s OK to start thinking Picnic. When I was in Birmingham, Shreveport and New Orleans, I wouldn’t start thinking about coming home until it was almost time to throw and go. Kept me from peaking out early. I got some welcome Picnic news this week when an article crossed

Linda and Everett Smith are thankful to be alive and they know who to thank – the Good Lord. Bro. Jerald Jones called me Monday morning at the office and asked if I had heard what happed to Everett and Linda. I hadn’t. As he told their tale, I kinda held my breath afraid at

Called Linda McCallister, my fishing reporter from Dains Fish Farm to be sure she gets the paper. She said she does and sees that I put in exactly what she reports. She said, “That is kinda scary.” She said that she sees that she may have a little info on fishing and another reporter has
