Attitude is everything: Weight loss is a mindset

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building, on Thursday, June 19, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our leader, Warren called the meeting to order, Carol led us in singing “T-O-P-S K-O-P-S”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges. We miss Marilyn who usually leads us in exercises. She is having problems with the foot she had to have the boot on. She is having severe muscle spasms in that leg. Please pray for a quick recovery for her.

Warren led us in Roll Call. We had thirteen members weigh in today. We had a gain of 1.4 pounds and a loss of 6.4 giving us a net loss of 5 pounds! Weeks’ best loser was Sue with a loss of 2.2 pounds.

Laura had the program. Today, she took her information from the TOPS NEWS dated May/June 2025 issue. Titled “Attitude is everything”. Weight loss is a mindset. We must have the right mindset. Having hobbies is one way to help. If you are busy doing something you love you will not be thinking of what you would like to eat. Hobbies also will reduce stress and keep you moving. If you are an outdoors person perhaps gardening, or going for a walk. If you are an indoor person, taking up painting or knitting can keep your hands busy. Some of our members enjoy playing pickleball, going for walks (with or without a dog), golfing and growing flowers; others enjoy knitting, crocheting, or sewing. If you don’t currently have a hobby, try several different things till you find what works for you. Laura ended her program by saying “Be Mindful” think about what you are craving, what can you do besides give into it?
