Timothy Kohler, 52, Nevada, was formally sentenced Thursday for sexually abusing 6-year-old girl in Springfield.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he admitted to sexually abusing one child in Springfield and propositioning another.

Kohler was formally sentenced Thursday after he pleaded guilty in November to statutory rape, statutory sodomy, child molestation and attempted enticement of a child.

The 15-year sentence was negotiated with prosecutors in exchange for Kohler’s guilty plea.

Kohler’s offenses occurred between 2012 and 2017.

Court documents say Kohler committed numerous sexual crimes, including statutory rape, against a girl in Springfield when she was 5 or 6 years old, and he also offered money to a 14-year-old in exchange for engaging in sex acts with him.

Kohler was also accused of sexual abusing a third child, according to court documents. Those offenses involving the third child were not charged, but they could have been brought up at trial if Kohler had not pleaded guilty.

Kohler’s victims declined to speak Thursday during his brief sentencing hearing in front of Judge Thomas Mountjoy at the Greene County courthouse.

Court records list Kohler as a resident of Nevada.

The maximum sentence for statutory rape in Missouri is life (30 years) in prison.
