Deral Floyd Mays, 81, El Dorado Springs, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Nevada Regional Medical Center.  Deral was born March 20, 1938, in Cedar County, MO, to Alva and Otho Lorene Mays.

Deral was married to Bonnie Smith for 15 years.  To this union four daughters were born: Debbie, Donna, Gayle and Sheila.  Later, Deral was married to Nelva Lynn (Leonard) Moore for forty-seven years.

Deral was saved and baptized at Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church.  He was currently a member of Union Hall Baptist Church.  He worked at Mid-America Dairy and later managed a grain elevator in Nebraska.  After retiring, he moved back to El Dorado Springs and did numerous cleaning jobs.  He loved hunting and fishing and gardening; he especially enjoyed vegetables and fruit trees.  He also loved to travel.

Preceding Deral in death were his parents, Alva and Otho Lorene Mays, and two grandchildren, Jessie Bell and Zachary Bell.

Survivors include his wife, Nelva, of the home; daughters: Debbie Cornejo, of El Dorado Springs; Donna Rock, El Dorado Springs; Gayle and Danny Bell, of Harwood;  and Sheila and Mike Howell, of Nevada; step-children: Faye and Rocky Koger, El Dorado Springs, Elizabeth and Bill Leek of Olathe, KS, and John and Dulce Moore, of Republic; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A service began at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Don Barger officiating.  A visitation  was held immediately before the service from 10-11 a.m.  Interment followed in Love Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were his grandsons: Ricky Meyer, Seth Rock, Colby Williams, Trevor Howell, Isac Bell, Tommy Cornejo, Louie Cornejo, Jason Koger, Matt Lawler and Brett Koger.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Love Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
