Elizabeth Mae “Liz” Bozworth, 79, Nevada, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.  Liz was born March 21, 1942 in Sheldon to Paul F. and Anna Mae (Compton) Rapp. She was united in marriage to Jesse Bozworth on April 11, 1964 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1989.

Liz began school in Sheldon and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1960. She worked at Key Work Clothes in Nevada for 41 years until their closing, and served on the Board of Directors there. She then worked in Home Health Care for 10 years until her recent retirement.

Liz was a supporter of the Humane Society and Paralyzed Veterans of America. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening and listening to Gospel Music.  Liz was a member of Fairview Community Church. To her siblings she was the “Best Big Sis Ever.”

Survivors include one son, Fred Bozworth (Tammi) – Butler; three granddaughters, Haley Bozworth, Elaine Eaton and Monica Eaton; great-grandson, Daniel Eaton; one brother, Richard Rapp (Mena), Moreno Valley, CA; five sisters, Carol Dissler (Jim) – Nevada, Pauline Rapp – Nevada, Judy Collins (Mike Matzke) – Lockwood, Sandra Burdick (Richard) – Nevada, Delores Russell (Jim) – Sheldon; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada with Pastor Felix Salazar and Rev. Bert Travis officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
