Beloved husband and father Jabe Austin Moore, 44, of Niangua, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 28, 2023.
Jabe was born Oct. 24, 1978 to Harold and Debbie Moore in Jackson, MS. He grew up attending school in El Dorado Springs. He played football and golf, and was briefly in the marching band, graduating in 1997. Jabe went on to attend Oklahoma State University – Institute of Technology.
Jabe met the love of his life, Nichole Busbey, at the age of three while attending daycare at Ms. Bogart’s. The two grew up in a small town, attending elementary, high school, and even OSU Tech together. After college, they lived in Texas, before moving to Springfield in 2000. They were married on July 7, 2001, and recently celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. Jabe and Nikki had three beautiful daughters together, Jewel (14), Evey (11) and Arian (9). They moved to Marshfield in 2014, and in 2020 they completed construction of their dream home in Niangua.
Jabe put his whole heart into every endeavor he undertook. He had several hobbies, including competitive BBQ, playing pool, restoring his Humvee and golfing. Jabe had many jobs throughout his life – electrician, car salesman, bar owner, telecommunications cable technician, HVAC technician and most recently a Technical Resource Manager for Honeywell, in which he managed an energy contract at Fort Leonard Wood for the past 10 years. If you knew Jabe, you loved him. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to people everywhere he went. Jabe was larger than life. He always had a kind word, a smile, or a joke to lighten the mood.
Jabe was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Jr. and Deborah (Macom) Moore. He is survived by his wife, Nichole Moore, and three daughters of the home, Jewel, Evey and Arian; his sister, Nicole Addison, her husband, Joey, and their daughter, Phoebe – Amarillo, TX; Uncle Charlie Neff – Springfield; and a host of other family and friends.
Rosary Service and visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 3, at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield. Service was held Friday, Aug. 4, at Day Funeral Home.
