Lena Lea Coak-Begley, 36, Harwood, passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at her home in Harwood. Lena was born Jan. 12, 1980, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Billy Joe and Terry Lynn (Coak) Begley.

At a young age, Lena moved along with her family from Indiana to Arizona. After a short time they then moved to California, and later back to Arizona for a time before moving to Missouri at the age of nine. They settled in Vernon County making their home first in Schell City and later in Harwood. Although Lena was born with cerebral palsy and was cared for by her family throughout her life, she was able to attend the Cedar Ridge State School in Nevada and graduated from there. Lena loved being around people and especially enjoyed music.

She attended the Methodist Church in Schell City for a time and later the Prayer House, also in Schell City.

When Lena heard babies crying it always brought a smile to her face and you could hear her laughter.

Survivors include her father, Billy Joe Begley, of the home; one brother, Kyle Allen Begley, and Rebecca – Belton; three nieces – Kayla Marie Martin, Hailey Lynn Martin and Kylie Jo Begley; one nephew, William Bradley Begley; one aunt, Charlotte Hall, El Dorado Springs; four uncles – Carl Robert Coak, William Coak and Leda, Bryant Coak and Debra, Jerry Coak and Robin – all of Arizona; and of special mention, a close family friend, Sharon Wenger.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Terry Lynn Begley, on Nov. 30, 2015; her grandfather, Gale Coak; and one aunt, Carol Maxwell.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 10, in Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Schell City, MO.
