In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 118 requests for assistance this past week, June 1-7. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance 18, Animal Control 14, Assist Other Agencies 20, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 0, All Other Requests for Assistance 66, Summons 8.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On June 8, 2020, officers responded to the area of 600 South Kirkpatrick concerning a reported trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of John H. Harrision, 36, of Nevada, Missouri, for the probable cause of Trespassing.  Harrison was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On June 8, 2020, officers responded to 308 North Jackson concerning a report of stealing. The investigation revealed the theft of a hammock, a Craftsman power washer, and a 10 gallon Ultra Pro shop vac. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On June 9, 2020, officers arrested Christopher J. Cretel, 24, of El Dorado Springs, for a Nevada Municipal Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appeared with the original charge of a traffic violation with a $75.00 cash bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On June 11, 2020, officers arrested Michael J. Smith, 41, of El Dorado Springs,  for the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, Resisting Arrest for a Felony, Careless and Reckless Driving, Assault 3rd Degree- Special Victim, No Operators License, Fail to Registrar Motor Vehicle, and No Insurance. Officer applied for and received a Cedar County Warrant charging him with Second Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, Driving While Intoxicated, and Operating a  Motor Vehicle Without Financial Responsibility, with a bond of $25,000, cash only or defendant my post 10%, no surety bond.

On June 11, 2020, officers responded to 203 West Poplar Street concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of pottery. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On June 11, 2020, officers responded to 610 South Main to assist the Department of Social Services. The investigation resulted the arrest of Misty M. Rock, 40, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Assault 4th Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Escape or Attempted Escape from Confinement, Parental Kidnapping, and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony. Officer completed a probable cause statement for these charges. Officers received a Cedar County Warrant charging Rock with a Class D Felony-Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Class E Felony-Parental Kidnapping and Class A Misdemeanor-Assault 4th Degree  with a bond of $10,000.00 cash only.  She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On June 12, 2020, Officers responded to 713 East Fields Street concerning a motor vehicle crash. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Danny R. Fitzgerald, 21, of El Dorado Springs, on the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Reckless Driving, and No Proof insurance. Fitzgerald was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On June 12, 2020, officers arrested Jessica D. Beard, 28, of El Dorado Springs for the probable cause of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd Degree. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On June 13, 2020, officers responded to 1601 South Vernon Street concerning a reported Larceny. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.
