Last week the Lady Bulldogs competed in the District tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs entered the tournament as the number one seed and would face off against the number 8 seed Warsaw Lady Wildcats.  The Lady Bulldogs started out slow, but were able to take an early lead into the second quarter.  In the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs offense took off scoring 27 points to take a 40-16 lead into the locker room.  In the second half the Lady Bulldogs continued their dominance and took the victory 61-20.  Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were:  Reese Schaaf 20, Tevi Gurley 12, Macie Mays and Chloe Middleton 10.

The win on Monday, sent the Lady Bulldogs to the semi final game against the Stockton Lady Tigers.  The Lady Bulldogs traded baskets with the Lady Tigers for most of the first half, until the Lady Bulldogs picked up the defensive pressure and went on a run to finish the first half with a 33-20 lead.  The Lady Bulldogs continued to play good defense, in the second half and never let the Lady Tigers back into the game.  Finishing with a 54-36 victory.  Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were:  Macie Mays 19 and Reese Schaaf 17.  During the second quarter of this game, Reese Schaaf scored her 1000th point for her career.

The win on Wednesday, sent the Lady Bulldogs to the District Championship game against the Butler Lady Bears.  The Lady Bulldogs took an early lead in the 1st quarter hitting shots from the outside and getting big stops on the defensive end.  In the second quarter, the Lady Bears heated up and really executed on the offensive end.  During the same time the Lady Bulldogs offense, couldn’t seem to find their rhythm and was held to just 8 points.  The Lady Bears took a slim 3 point lead into the half time locker room.  In the third quarter the Lady Bulldogs were able to take advantage of some Butler turnovers and they regained the lead.  The Lady Bulldogs would enter the fourth quarter with a 5 point lead, but again the Lady Bulldogs would go cold from the field and the Butler Lady Bears hit some timely to shots to take the lead with just minutes left.  Down the stretch the Lady Bears were able to hit free throws and end the Lady Bulldogs season with a loss 46-50.  Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were:  Macie Mays 23, Reese Schaaf 12 and Chloe Middleton 5.
