On Friday afternoon at 16:06 hours the El Dorado Springs Voluneer Fire Department was dispatched to 1804 S. Elm for a reported chimney fire.  The fire was contained  within the chimney.  The firefighters removed the fire from the fire placed and extinguished the fire the chimney.  13 firefighters responded.  The house suffered minor smoke damage.

El Dorado Springs Fire Department responded to two incidents on the week of Jan. 12.  Jan 8 to a chimney fire at 507 S. Ohio and weather spotted on Jan. 10.

EL DORADO SPRINGS LIONS GO SHOPPING – On Dec.14, the El Dorado Springs Lions, through their annual Shop-With-A-Lion project, were able to help nearly 25 area children have a more enjoyable Christmas. Since its beginning in 2005, the Shop-With-A-Lion project has spent over $37,000 serving more than 750 children. Funds for this project are three-fold:

ZION LUTHERAN DONATES TO WALKER FIRE DEPARTMENT – The Zion Lutheran Church and School of Prairie City/Rockville recently donated to the Walker Rural Fire Department. A Missouri resident is in custody following a pursuit Wednesday when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in Nevada. According to officials with the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, who has been identified as 29 year-old Kaleb J Wilson, failed to stop for a deputy who was working a traffic related detail for MoDot.

HELLO AND WELCOME – This week Cedar County Memorial Hospital is welcoming Michaela Robertson as our Admin. Department Administrative Assistant. She comes to us with experience as an Emergency Department Clerk and also knowledge of Central Scheduling.
